How the Air Force PT Test is scored

The Air Force fitness assessment scores Airmen across three components: push-ups (strength), core (sit-ups, plank, or reverse crunch), and cardio (1.5-mile run or 20m HAMR shuttle). Each component is worth a share of the 100-point composite score.

How to improve your weakest component

Push-Ups: Daily high-volume work . 150-250 reps across clean sets of 20-30. Add eccentric slow-downs once a week. Deload one day.

What's a good score?

75 is the pass threshold. 90+ is Excellent (triggers reward). 95+ is a competitive score for selection boards. 100 is a perfect score.

How often is the AF PT test taken?

What are the component minimums?

What changed in 2022?

Waist measurement was removed. Components became elective (plank/reverse crunch as alternatives to sit-ups; shuttle run as alternative to 1.5-mile). Scoring shifted to 100-pt composite.
