What Is a Good HYROX Time?

It depends on your division and your age, but here is where the middle of the field sits. These are median finish times from 700,000 public HYROX results. Half of all athletes finish faster than these times, and half finish slower.

Division Median finish time
Men Open 1:27:56
Women Open 1:36:20
Men Pro 1:20:54
Women Pro 1:26:53
Doubles Men 1:16:13
Doubles Women 1:28:13
Doubles Mixed 1:23:05

HYROX Times by Age Group

Finish times slow gradually with age, so the same time means more at 45 than at 25. The calculator uses these level bands for Open singles. Times are hours:minutes.

Where the Time Goes: a 90-Minute Race

Almost half of a HYROX is running. That is why the calculator asks for your run pace first. Here is the sample 90-minute race the calculator starts with, taken from our HYROX pacing strategy guide.

Segment 90-minute sample Share of race
8 x 1 km runs (5:30 per km) 44:00 49%
SkiErg (1,000 m) 5:00 6%
Sled Push (50 m) 3:45 4%
Sled Pull (50 m) 5:15 6%
Burpee Broad Jumps (80 m) 5:15 6%
Row (1,000 m) 5:00 6%
Farmers Carry (200 m) 2:30 3%
Sandbag Lunges (100 m) 4:45 5%
Wall Balls (100 reps) 6:30 7%
Roxzone (all transitions) 8:00 9%
Total 1:30:00 100%

Two things stand out. Saving 15 seconds per kilometer on your runs is worth 2 minutes. And the Roxzone is close to 10 percent of the race, so cutting a minute there costs nothing but focus.

How the Calculator Works

  • Predict My Finish adds your average run pace times 8, your 8 station times and your total Roxzone time. Then it compares your finish with the median for your division and, for Open singles, gives you a level for your age group.
  • Plan a Goal Time scales the 90-minute sample race to your goal, so every segment keeps the same share of the race. It is a starting point. Move time between the runs and the stations to suit your strengths.
  • Your runs slow down after the sleds and the lunges. Use your average race pace, not your fresh 1 km pace, or the prediction will come out too fast.

To get better station numbers, read the station guides: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, row, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls. New to the race? Start with What Is HYROX? or Pro vs Open, or see everything in the HYROX Guide.

HYROX Time FAQ

What is a good HYROX time?

For most first-timers, finishing is the goal. Across 700,000 public HYROX results, the median finish is 1:27:56 for Men Open and 1:36:20 for Women Open, so beating those puts you in the faster half. Under about 1:20 (men) or 1:30 (women) in Open is an advanced time or better for most age groups.

What is the average HYROX time?

The median finish time is 1:27:56 for Men Open, 1:36:20 for Women Open, 1:20:54 for Men Pro, 1:26:53 for Women Pro, 1:16:13 for Doubles Men, 1:28:13 for Doubles Women and 1:23:05 for Doubles Mixed, based on 700,000 public results.

How long does a HYROX take?

Most singles athletes finish in roughly 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. The fastest Elite men finish in under 1 hour. About half of a typical race is the 8 km of running, and the Roxzone transitions add several more minutes on top (8:00 in our 90-minute sample race).

How do I predict my HYROX finish time?

Add up your average 1 km run pace times 8, your 8 station times and your total Roxzone time. The calculator above does this for you. The most accurate inputs come from a full or half race simulation, because your running slows after the sleds and lunges.

What HYROX splits do I need for a 90-minute finish?

One way to do it: 5:30 per km for the 8 runs (44:00), SkiErg 5:00, sled push 3:45, sled pull 5:15, burpee broad jumps 5:15, row 5:00, farmers carry 2:30, sandbag lunges 4:45, wall balls 6:30, and 8:00 total in the Roxzone.

Is the Roxzone included in my HYROX time?

Yes. Every entry and exit of the Roxzone is on your clock, 16 in total. It is often the easiest place to save a minute or more, because it takes discipline rather than fitness.
