Hyrox Gyms in Miami: Where to Train for Your Next Race (2026)

Battle Bunker August 3, 2026 9 min read

Short answer: the only Miami gym claiming official HYROX affiliation on its own website is Miami Beach Fitness on Alton Road. AIRLAB Fitness in Midtown and Coral Gables calls itself a certified HYROX gym. For a purpose-built race floor, Hybrid Lab Miami just west of Brickell. For coached classes in the core, Downtown Strength and Conditioning. In the Wynwood and Edgewater corridor, CrossFit Yellow Falcon. West of the airport, Move2Burn Fitness in Doral.

Hyrox is not a workout you can improvise. It asks for a SkiErg, a rower, a sled you can push on turf, wall balls at two target heights, a heavy sandbag, and clear floor for 100 meters of lunges. Miami has boutique studios everywhere, and most have two of those six things.

The other Miami problem is the weather. From May through October the heat and humidity turn an easy 8km into a survival exercise, which makes air conditioned access to a SkiErg and a sled lane worth more here than in most cities.

HYROX lists Sweat Pals HYROX Miami Beach for March 26 to 28, 2027 on its official event page. The venue is still marked as coming soon, so do not book a hotel around an address you found elsewhere.

A note on "official affiliate" versus "Hyrox-style"

An official HYROX affiliate, usually branded as a HYROX Training Club, pays for affiliation, receives the official programming library, and can market under the HYROX name. A gym running Hyrox-style conditioning is not worse, it is just not the same thing. Below, each status line is what the gym claims on its own website. Several Miami and Broward gyms appear as affiliates on aggregator maps but say nothing on their own sites, so I left them out.

Hyrox gyms in Miami

Miami Beach Fitness

Area: Miami Beach, at 930 Alton Road in South Beach.
Status: States on its own site that it is a HYROX Training Club and Florida's first official HYROX affiliate.

The deepest Hyrox schedule in the metro by a wide margin: 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, plus Saturday at 11:00 AM. Eleven sessions a week lets you build a real training block rather than one weekend grinder. A CrossFit box since 2011, so the sled, rower and wall ball infrastructure predates the Hyrox program, and a Wednesday evening run club covers the running half. Best for Beach residents. mbfitmiamibeach.com

AIRLAB Fitness

Area: Midtown Miami at 2901 NE 1st Avenue, plus a second studio in Coral Gables.
Status: Calls itself a certified HYROX gym and lists "HYROX Certified Gym & Race Affiliate" in its own stats block. That is its own claim, so confirm when you call.

AIRLAB is an altitude studio running classes at roughly 12,000 feet of simulated elevation, and it programs two dedicated HYROX simulation classes a week across its two locations, built around the race format with SkiErg, sled and wall balls. Simulated altitude is no substitute for race-specific volume, but it is a legitimate way to stress the aerobic system without adding outdoor mileage in August. First class free. Best for athletes wanting a harder engine stimulus indoors. airlabfitness.com

Hybrid Lab Miami

Area: 420 SW 7th Street, immediately west of Brickell on the edge of Little Havana.
Status: Runs Hyrox-focused training. It calls itself "Miami's first HYROX performance center" but claims no official affiliate status on its own site, so I am not calling it one.

Equipment-wise this is the most complete race floor I could verify in Miami. Its own pages list official Hyrox turf, sled lanes, treadmills, an erg zone and a strength floor, with open gym access on top of classes. Programming splits into four blocks: Endure, Force, Threshold and Engine, with methodology credited to Hyrox world champion Tim Wenisch and Qalcha Training. It is newly open, so the schedule is still filling out. Best for self-programmed athletes who need real station access. hybridlabmiami.com

Downtown Strength and Conditioning

Area: Downtown Miami, at 15 SE 2nd Avenue, walking distance from Brickell.
Status: Runs Hyrox-focused training. Its site lists HYROX among its group programs but makes no affiliate claim.

The practical downtown option. HYROX classes sit alongside functional fitness, HIIT, USAW Olympic weightlifting and personal training, and the gym runs 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekdays, the widest window on this list. Showers and air conditioning, which matter in July. Locals with valid ID can book a complimentary trial. Best for Brickell professionals who want one gym for everything. downtownstrengthandconditioning.com

CrossFit Yellow Falcon

Area: 1930 North Miami Avenue, in the corridor between Wynwood, Edgewater and downtown.
Status: Runs Hyrox-focused training. It has a dedicated HYROX program and class schedule but claims no affiliate status.

A roomy box with a published Hyrox schedule: Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 PM, Saturday at 11:00 AM. Its equipment list names Rogue, Concept2 and Assault. Three sessions a week anchors a build if you handle your own running. Free class available. Best for Wynwood athletes who want a CrossFit base with Hyrox on top. crossfityellowfalcon.com

Move2Burn Fitness

Area: Doral, at 1907 NW 79th Avenue, a couple of miles west of Miami International.
Status: Its own HYROX page refers to "our hyrox training club." That is the gym's own wording, unconfirmed against hyrox.com, so ask when you visit.

The only Hyrox program here west of the airport, which matters if you live in Doral or Sweetwater and do not want to fight the 836 twice a day. Sixty minute sessions, and its own page names SkiErg work, sled pushes, lunges, kettlebell carries, wall balls and farmers carries plus pacing strategy. Free trial class. move2burn.com

On Fort Lauderdale and Broward: several gyms up there appear on third-party affiliate maps, but none I checked mention Hyrox affiliation on their own sites, so I left them off. Call ahead and ask.

What the race demands from a gym

Ignore the branding and walk the floor. These are the six things the race tests.

  • SkiErg. Station one, 1,000 meters, and the most commonly missing machine in American gyms. No SkiErg, no way to train the opening station.
  • Sled push and sled pull. Not just a sled, but a lane long enough to use it. Hyrox runs 50 meters of pushing and 50 of pulling on turf. A sled on rubber matting teaches the wrong friction and the wrong pacing.
  • Rower. The easy one. Almost every functional gym in Miami has Concept2 rowers.
  • Wall balls. Check the target heights. Men throw to 10 feet, women to 9. A single height is a problem.
  • Sandbag lunges. A bag at your race weight and a lane long enough to walk 100 meters.
  • Farmers carry. Kettlebells or dedicated handles, plus open floor.

The SkiErg and the sled lane eliminate most gyms. Ask about both on your tour, and whether members can use them outside class time. In a city full of small, space-constrained studios, the sled lane separates a Hyrox gym from a gym that posts about Hyrox.

Miami does give you one advantage: no winter, so the running half of your build never moves indoors, and flat causeways mirror a dead flat convention center floor better than a hilly city would.

Training for Hyrox without a Hyrox gym

You do not need an affiliate to get race ready. You need a plan and a set of honest substitutes.

Athlete performing walking sandbag lunges with a heavy training sandbag during Hyrox training

The runs: half the race is 8km of running. Do compromised running early on the Rickenbacker Causeway, the Venetian, or the Miami Beach boardwalk, and respect the heat index rather than fighting it.

Sled push and pull: the best home substitute is a heavy sandbag drag on grass or turf using a strap. Bear hug carries and short heavy walking intervals build the same quad and calf tolerance.

SkiErg: no perfect substitute exists. Banded straight-arm pulldowns, heavy rope work and rowing intervals get you close. Get on a real SkiErg a few times before race day so the pattern is not new.

Sandbag lunges: train these exactly as written, because you can. One bag at race weight covers this station and the farmers carry pattern, the highest return piece of equipment you can own for Hyrox, and why I built our line of training sandbags the way I did.

Wall balls: a medicine ball and a strip of tape on a wall at 9 or 10 feet.

Pair the substitutes with structure. Our Hyrox training plan lays out a beginner build week by week, and if you are racing on the other coast we have the same breakdown for Hyrox gyms in San Diego.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need a Hyrox affiliate gym to train for Hyrox in Miami?

No. Affiliation gives a gym official programming and marketing rights, not a monopoly on results. You need access to a SkiErg and a sled at some point in your build, a plan that progresses compromised running, and consistency through a South Florida summer. Where affiliation pays off is early registration access, and Miami Beach singles waves move fast.

When is the next Hyrox race in Miami?

HYROX lists Sweat Pals HYROX Miami Beach for March 26 to 28, 2027 on its official event page. The venue is still shown as coming soon. The 2025 edition ran at the Miami Beach Convention Center, but that is a past event, not a confirmation of the 2027 location.

Which Miami Hyrox gym is best for a total beginner?

Start where a free session is on offer. AIRLAB Fitness and Move2Burn both advertise a free first class, and Downtown Strength and Conditioning offers a complimentary trial for locals with valid ID. If you want the most coached sessions per week from day one, Miami Beach Fitness runs eleven.

How do you train for Hyrox in Miami heat?

Move the running to first light or after dark from May through October and judge sessions by effort rather than pace, because humidity costs you 20 to 40 seconds per mile at the same heart rate. Keep station work indoors and air conditioned. Race day itself is indoors and climate controlled, so a Miami summer build leaves you overprepared rather than under.
